The Pinto A. Mutschler Import-Export GmbH was founded in 1982 by Anton Mutschler and soon began to expand internationally. After a short start-up period, the company got started in the fruit and vegetable business. During the 1990's, the company expanded massively by founding a number of foreign branches and by extending the product range with walnut halves. In the meantime, Pinto has become one of Europe's leading cucumber and cornichon suppliers for the canning industry with a yearly quantity of roughly 12.000 tons. Besides trading with cucumbers, cornichons and walnuts, Pinto has also raised the harvested quantity of its other products such potatoes and onions. According to our company philosophy, we are steadily raising the percentage of self-grown products while lowering the amount of industrial products. Organic products In 1998 the cultivation of organical cucumbers was started in Germany. Nowadays, walnut halves and other organical products such as pumpkin- and sunflowerseeds .
