The German foundry, Giesserei St. Leon-Rot GmbH, (Headquaters of the SLR Group) was established in 1981. In 1986, Mr. Rudi Seiz was given the opportunity to purchase the company, as Managing Director, through a management buy-out decision. And today , the SLR Group is 100% owned by the Seiz family. With a staff force of approx. 1000 employees, the SLR Group produces a total of 85, 000 tons of cast iron with spheroidal graphite a year. From casting, to machining and on to component assembling. Products are developed and designed at EME-SLR in Eging a.See located in Germany. Besides the production plant in St. Leon-Rot, an additional foundry is located in the Austrian city of Steyr (Cooperative relationship). The cast iron produced from both production facilities is primarily cleaned at SLR-Czechia in the Czech Republic, before priming and controlling.
