A few words about the Zoltán Kodály Primary-Grammar-Music School Our school, presently celebrating its 50th anniversary, is renown for its musical heritage for which it has been awarded with the Hungarian Heritage Award in 2004. The essence of the Kodály-concept is teaching singing to students every day hence the most straightforward way to do so is by teaching them in a school of music. Zoltán Kodály introduced his special method of teaching in 1947. His ideas have proved to be so clear and efficient, that even musically less endowed children can reproduce music at a high standard. Irma Bors, a teacher of music, and a student of Zoltán Kodály founded our school in 1954. Since 1968 we have been located in the 2nd district in Budapest at Marczibányi square in a beautifully restored historic building. The school was named after Zoltán Kodály in 1975. From the time of its foundation our school has represented a high standard of musical education.
