PARK TENISZKLUB

A Park Teniszklub a város szívében, 12 salakos pályával, 800 m2-es klubházzal és rengeteg színvonalas szolgáltatással várja a vendégeket.

A Park Teniszklub színvonalas feltételeket kíván nyújtani mind a versenytenisz, mind a társasági tenisz számára, továbbá tagjai részére rendezvényeket szervez a szabadido tartalmas eltöltésére. A klub politikailag és vallásilag semleges. A tagok jogait és kötelességeit a jelen alapszabály határozza meg. Aki a klub tagja kíván lenni, a felvétel elott is betekinthet az alapszabályba. Minden újonnan felvett tag a felvételi értesítovel megkapja a jelen alapszabály, valamint a valamint a játék-, pálya és házirend egy példányát. A klub megalapítását és muködtetését, illetve a klub elnökségének felkérését és visszahívását a Park Teniszklub Rt. és a Tenyeres Kft. végzi a köztük lévo megállapodás alapján. A klub müködtetésére a Tenyeres Kft. alkalmazottakat foglalkoztat. A klub feloszlatására az Elnökség javaslata alapján szintén a fenti társaságok jogosultak.

Tennis has appeared in Hungary in the 1880's in the beginning exclusively as the sport of the aristocratic circles. The first Hungarian Championship was held in 1884, and it was won by the only woman out of the 8 participants. The Hungarian Tennis Organization was founded in 1907, and a year after, in 1908 the tennis courts of the Kelenföld Ballplaying Society were built, this is the current home of our club. During World War I. practically there was no tennis life in the country, the sport began to be reborn around 1920. This is when they renamed our court to BLKE (Budapest Lawn-Tennis and Skating Organization), and thus soon after the whole city called it "Blöke". During the winters they built an ice-skating rink on the courts. The center court was inaugurated in 1930 with a Budapest Championship. After World War II. the courts were reopened by a state management. In these years Asbóth and Ádám played the legendary Davis Cup matches here on the center court for example against the Swedes, where one of the best European players, Bergelin (on the left) played, who later became the coach of Björn Borg. Several smaller clubs played on the courts as well (Petőfi SE, Kossuth SE, Uvaterv SE), until finally in the 70's it became the home of MTK. In the 80's the courts were managed by the club MTK. In 1984 on the place of the center court Hungarhotels built an indoor tennis hall with 2 courts that was considered modern at the time. This facility was separated from the property.
