Our main research interest is to study the brain microcirculation, as well as the mechanisms of neuronal-vascular damage following metabolic (hypoxia, ischemia, spreading depolarization) insults both in newborn pig and adult rat animal models. To study the microcirculation we use the closed cranial window/intravital microscopy technique and laser-Doppler flowmetry.
